Move Facebook photos to Google Photos

Back in December we told you of a tool allowing you to transfer your Facebook photos to other platforms. Well it is now starting to roll out with users in the US and Canada able to use the data transfer tool to move their Facebook photos to Google Photos starting today.

The tool is part of a bigger plan from Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter and Google called the data transfer project which will allow users to move their data more easily between the big social media platforms. This came about after GDPR was introduced to the EU in 2018 giving people more rights over their data.

After a successful trial in Ireland last year the data transfer tool will now make its way to Facebook users throughout the world.

To use it simply head to your settings and choose “Your Facebook Information”. There you will find an option to transfer your Facebook photos and videos; but right now your only choice is to Google Photos.
