Chrome has quite a few new features in the oven for 2020, and the newest one will make it easier than ever to quickly copy an image from the internet. That's not the biggest change in the world, but it will make it easier to share photos or paste them into other apps without clogging up your phone's internal storage or having to go through the share menu every time.
New Chrome features in 2020
The new feature is hinted at in Chromium's code, but it hasn't been implemented just yet. Now whenever you look up an image, if you want to send it anywhere you have to either save it to your phone, or use the share menu to send it to Twitter, add it to Drive, message it to your friend, or whatever else works for your situation.
With this change, that menu when you long-press an image will have an additional option to just copy it. This will put it in your clipboard so you can easily paste it into a social media update, an SMS thread, or anywhere else. Saves a couple steps and a little bit of headache, which is nice.

Other new features that we're expecting from Chrome this year include shifting Voice Search over to Google Assistant, some redesigned tab groups that's a little more Duet-friendly, a better share sheet, screenshot editing, and more. Despite Android being the backbone to all of this, Chrome is still a crucial piece of Google's software strategy; many users spend just as much time in their web browser as they do anything else on their phone, especially when we're talking about budget-friendly phones that don't have the storage or CPU power for tons of apps, so a powerful browser that has all the features you could need makes sense.
And for those of you that do have higher-end phones? Well, a more featured browser can't hurt at the end of the day. More options is a win for everyone.
