Samsung has been acing their security update support in recent years and they've now begun rolling out the new December security update to some phones before even Google, again.
Samsung has been steadily improving their update game over the last few years, with the delay between Google's releases and Samsung's updates shrinking from over half a year to only a few months. Furthermore, Samsung has surprisingly been at the fore of the Android security update front with their phones having beaten even Google's own Pixels to the secure punch on multiple occasions.
Well now Samsung has done it again with December's Android security patch already rolling out to the Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, Note 9, Note 8, and A50 with the rest of their <2y/o phones soon to follow.
This lightning-fast, or in fact perhaps quantum-entanglement-fast, security update news comes amid Samsung's beta testing of their Android 10-based One UI 2.0 update on their recent flagships for a stable update expected by New Years.
Given Samsung is the largest phone manufacturer by far, it is particularly encouraging to see their software support improve so much in an industry which is seeing a greater trend towards support overall thanks to Google's many efforts on the matter, and hopefully its a trend Samsung can continue to accelerate.
