Nokia welcomes Android 10 (Go Edition) - updates to begin rolling out from Q1 2020 4

Just a day after Google announced the Android 10 (Go Edition) that brings a slew of improvements for entry-level devices, Nokia has stated that it will begin updating its Nokia Go handsets starting Q1 2020. Nokia's statement of intent shouldn't come as much surprise considering that it's garnered quite the reputation for timeous updates to its smartphones.

This means that Nokia Go handsets such as the Nokia 1 Plus are in line to get the Android 10 (Go Edition) update in Q1 2020, with the Nokia 1 and Nokia 2.1 sometime in Q2. When you think that these are handsets that cost $150 or less, it's pretty impressive on Nokia's part. Especially when you look at other brands such as Lenovo rolling out a Pie update to the Moto Z2 Play more than a year after the Android version was released, never mind the brands that forget about updating their low and mid-range handsets entirely.

“Entry level smartphone experience should not be a compromise. #Google proves it with new #Android 10 Go edition offering rich experiences with even better memory mgmt, performance & security.” said HMD Global's Chief Production Officer, Juho Sarvikas, “We are working to bring them first on #Nokia smartphones 🙏”

Yet again, Nokia is delivering, both on a hardware and software level, for its customers. If you are thinking of buying a new budget handset, do announcements such as this make you consider a brand more or less? Let us know in the comments below.
