Pre-orders for Samsung's Galaxy Tab S6 are live on Amazon - shipping August 9th 4

While we ponder as to the reasons why Samsung chose to skip the Tab S5 moniker when it came to naming the Galaxy Tab S4's successor, with the Tab S5e launching as a mid-range tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6 is already available to pre-order from Amazon in the US. Starting from $649 for the 6GB/128GB version, the cost of the Galaxy Tab S6 rises to $729 for the model with 128GB of storage.

That price goes up even more when you factor in the cost of the optional keyboard, bumping the price up by an additional $179 which brings the total to $908 for the 8GB/256GBGB Tab S6, and $808 for the 6GB/128GB version. Samsung says that an LTE version will be available later in the year, which will probably add around $100 to the total.

Amazon has the Galaxy Tab S6 up for pre-order in Mountain Gray and Cloud Blue, the Rose Blush color isn't listed for the present time.

Packing the powerful Snapdragon 855 and 6GB/8GB of RAM, the Galaxy Tab S6 promises to be the most powerful Android tablet we've ever seen. Is it worth spending a minimum of $650 to buy the Galaxy Tab S6 with its fancy S Pen that magnetically attaches to its rear panel over the Galaxy Tab S5e? Unless the S Pen is an absolute must, the Tab S5e from Verizon could offer better value for money despite being somewhat lower-specced although the Tab S6 is marketed as a productivity tool.

According to the listing on Amazon, preorders for the Galaxy Tab S6 will begin shipping from August 9th.
