If you are an ardent BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) user it may be time to think about using a different messaging service, this is due to BlackBerry shutting down the consumer version of BBM, which will cease later today (May 31st). Confirmation of the consumer version of BBM shutting down on Android and iOS was confirmed by the official BBM Twitter account.
The service shuts down on Android and iOS today but will continue working on devices running BB10 and BBOS, which means that photos, videos, and other files will only be available to download and save for a few more hours. After midnight, the data will be inaccessible. If you've bought BBM stickers, you may be able to receive a refund by following the instructions on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The refund policy doesn't apply to BBMoji, unfortunately. BlackBerry has posted a list of FAQ to help with the closure.
If you can't live without BBM in your life, BlackBerry suggests moving over to BBM Enterprise which you can download on Android and iOS.
If you aren't planning on switching over to BBM Enterprise, let us know which instant messaging service you are moving to.
