OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, is no stranger to hyping up his company and upcoming products on social media. He brags about the speed of OnePlus phones, their cameras, and anything else to drum up excitement, and whether or not you always agree with the quality that OnePlus goes with, it's hard to argue that he's not a great hype man.
This time around he's talking up OnePlus's display technology for the OnePlus 7, which, according to Lau, you're going to have to see to believe.
He didn't spill any other details besides making it sound really enticing. Apparently, the first time Lau saw the OnePlus 7 display he was “stunned,” and he's pretty certain that it's going to redefine what we consider fast and smooth for smartphone displays.

We've heard rumors that this display will be utilizing a 90hz refresh rate for better motion and clarity, similar to some other gaming phones on the market. The screen will only be available in the OnePlus 7 Pro, which will launch alongside the OnePlus 7 with 5G connectivity and a higher price tag. OnePlus has already been on a trend of pricing each generation of devices higher and higher each year, so I think it's a safe bet to say that the OnePlus 7 Pro is going to be pretty close in price to a Galaxy S10 or other similar flagship.
OnePlus has built their reputation on being a value brand, but 2019 is going to see Pete Lau lead his company right into competition with Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. Should be pretty exciting to see how it shakes out.

At first I was seriously thinking about upgrading to the OP 7 due to the pop up selfie (which I rarely use) but then the leaks indicated it was the OP 7 Pro having this feature and I was on the fence. When leaks then indicated curves display for the pro I was disappointed, not a huge fan of the curved display. Now I am back on the fence again hearing the QHD with 90hz screen. Now it all boils down to the price if all of these leaks are correct. I always stuck with OP for their value for money phones, if I can get the S10 for less then I don’t really see a reason to get the OP 7 Pro.
