OnePlus 7 renders and leaks may reveal additional versions 4

Looking ahead to May, one of the events we are likely to be treated to is the unveiling of the next flagship device from OnePlus. Last year the OnePlus 6 was announced on May 16th and rumors suggest OnePlus is planning a May 14th reveal date for the OnePlus 7. Perhaps more exciting is that OnePlus may be planning to launch more than one version.

Last month sources revealed some plans for the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro. However, the latest information indicates that the Pro moniker is more than just a name and will be a second version joined by the standard OnePlus 7. If OnePlus is planning two variants of their flagship it would help explain some of the inconsistency of previous leaks.

The base version of the OnePlus 7 appears to be designed similar to the OnePlus 6T, the company's current flagship. One small change has been made in the location of the LED flash on the back of the camera. The flash has now been moved to be part of the camera “housing” instead of sitting separately. Sources indicate the device is expected to have a screen that measures 6.2-inches, a slight reduction from the 6.41-inch display of the OnePlus 6T.

The OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to sport a larger screen at 6.5-inches and will be equipped with a pop-up selfie camera in the top edge to help differentiate it and get rid of the notch. Other specs that may make the Pro version more desirable are unclear, although 10GB of RAM may be in the works.

Speaking of specs, the OnePlus 7 is expected to come with a Snapdragon 855 processor and will have 6GB of RAM to keep things operating smoothly. OnePlus is also expected to included an up-to-date version of an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. A 4,150 mAh battery may also be part of the hardware included. Both the base and Pro versions of the OnePlus 7 are expected to come with the latest version of OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie.

The latest rumors also put the price for the base OnePlus 7 at 39,990 Rs ($623 USD).

Anyone out there waiting for OnePlus's latest iteration of a flagship device?
