Google Inbox is dead, and if you were one of the users to get prematurely forced out of the service, you might still be searching for a replacement. There are a ton of suitable email clients on Android, including Gmail itself, but you might be itching for something a little more powerful than Gmail.

Spark by Readdle is one of those apps, and they're launching on Android today just in time to scoop up some Inbox users.

Now Spark has been available on iOS and MacOS for a while now, and it's one of the most popular apps on that side of the fence. This Android launch just happens to be the first time those of us without an iPhone will have a chance to use it.

There are a ton of useful features in Spark, including a smart inbox that bundles up your emails into different categories and then only notifies you if it's an important email from someone that you need to talk to. Sound familiar?

You can snooze and schedule emails, set up reminders, pin emails to the top of your inbox, and use a powerful search tool to dig through your inbox to find that particular email you forgot to respond to last week. It's extremely powerful and has more room to grow, considering a few features like calendar integration, quick replies, and third-party service support aren't available from the iOS counterpart just yet.

Speaking of iOS, Spark seems to be one of the least painful ways of getting an iCloud mailbox on your Android device.

The app is available to download now, and it will certainly have a few updates in the coming months to fill out its feature set. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

  1. Spark Mail is one of two iOS apps that I was waiting on before I switch to Android! It’s the only email app that I know of that you can set a swipe action to mark as spam.

      1. It’s an app called Occasions+ I use it to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries and others reoccurring dates. I’ve searched for an Android replacement but nothing does exactly what it does. It’s also kind of hard to explain as it does thing differently than all the gazillion birthday and anniversary apps out there.
