The latest in Samsung's continual downpour of mid-range handsets has been unveiled and totes the same ‘Infinity-U' notched display and vertical cameras of its countless smaller brethren.
From the South Korean company's Galaxy M20 and M30 with their ‘Infinity-U' pimple notches and left-aligned vertical rear camera setup, to their Galaxy A50 and now A70 with their… ‘Infinity-U' pimple notches and left-aligned vertical rear camera setup; Samsung likes to choose a mid-range approach and stick with it.
Well that newest addition to their lineup, the A70, has just been announced featuring the samey design and the specs as follows:
| Display | 6.7″ 20:9 1080×2400 ‘Infinity-U' notched Super AMOLED |
| Cameras | Primary 32MP F/1.7 Ultrawide 8MP F/2.2 123deg. Depth-sensing 5MP F/2.2 Selfie 32MP F/2.0 |
| Dimensions | 164.3 x 76.7 x 7.9mm or 6.47 x 3.02 x 0.31 inches |
| Processor | Unspecified octa-core 2 x 2.0Ghz + 6 x 1.7Ghz |
| RAM | 6/8GB |
| ROM | 128GB + MicroSD |
| Battery | 4500mAh 25W fast charging |
| SIM | Dual nano-SIM |
| Fingerprint | On-screen |
| Software | Samsung One UI on Android Pie |
| Colours | Black, White, Coral, Blue |
| Price | £369, roughly $500 |
The device seems decent enough but entirely unexceptional in any way and does not pose an especially competitive value proposition as it faces competition from the likes of the excellent Nokia 8.1, however it does maintain an edge in the display and bezel game.
Since full details have not been released there's not much else to say at this point, but stay tuned for April 10th though when Samsung will fully announce the phone.
