Animosity between big tech companies is nothing new in the industry. One of those spats in recent years involved Google and Amazon as both companies try to achieve dominance for both their streaming video services and their streaming hardware. For the latter, a bit of a crack in the recent stalemate has appeared as Amazon is once again listing a couple versions of the Google Chromecast on their web site for sale.
The two items that have been spotted included the third generation Google Chromecast that was released earlier this year and the Google Chromecast Ultra which supports 4K video feeds. All Chromecast devices had been pulled by Amazon on the claim that the Chromecast did not support Amazon Prime Video. Nevermind that Amazon also sells their own Fire TV streaking sticks and perhaps did not want any competition for their in-house devices. This latest move follows a change a few weeks ago in which Amazon also started selling Apple TV products again. Apple's hardware had also been pulled from Amazon.
Although the hardware is now available, software platforms are still an issue between the companies. On the Chromecast side, the Google devices still do not have support for Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, Amazon Fire TV devices do not have the ability to play YouTube TV or just regular YouTube since Google pulled the ability to do that as one of their moves in this ongoing skirmish.

Fire devices beat Chromecast devices hands down.. However.. Android TV devices beat Fire Devices hands down.. If you had the ability to install apps and use a regular remote on a Chromecast it would be awesome.
