Fossil has announced a new sport smartwatch running Google's rebranded Wear OS, but most importantly it's also one of the first watches we've seen with Qualcomm's significantly improved Snapdragon 3100 platform. There are some key improvements over previous Fossil smartwatches here, but what we're really banking on is better performance and battery life.
The Fossil Sport is packing improved hardware sensors related to fitness tracking, including your typical heart rate monitor, GPS, and NFC, plus things like an altimeter, barometer, and gyroscope. Fossil says these are better than previous generations, which likely means they'll be slightly more accurate at tracking your exercise routine.
Fossil also says that the watch should last up to 24 hours on a single charge thanks to the more efficient processor, so getting a full days use out of the watch should be pretty feasible for most people. It'll be offered in 41mm and 43mm sizes in gray, black, pink, red, blue, or green.
The Fossil Sport goes on sale November 12th for $225, which is honestly pretty aggressively priced compared to some other heavy hitters in the market.
