The Galaxy Note 9 just recently picked up black and silver paint jobs after only blue and purple options were available at launch, continuing Samsung’s trend of releasing additional colors after the initial launch window of the phone. Now there’s another leaked render of the Note 9, but this time in a very clean looking white design.
This leak comes from the famous Evan Blass, who’s typically pretty on point with most smartphone leaks. He even seems a little skeptical about this one, though, which might just mean that this is a really good Photoshop job instead of anything actually planned by Samsung.
White phones from Samsung have incredibly inconsistent since the Galaxy S6; while the Galaxy S7 had a white color option it was only available internationally and didn’t seem to stay in production as long as some of the other colors. Neither the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S9 had true white color options, opting instead for shades of silver, which was also true for the (recalled) Galaxy Note 7, and the Galaxy Note 8 never even had that to choose from, unless you count the Olympic edition of the phone.
So if you’re expecting Samsung to continue their current trend, this is nothing more than a good Photoshop job. But if you think Samsung might try to bring white phones back into the mainstream, well, this might be our first look at it.
