Sony has finally started to shift some of their phones' design language, and while they still definitely feel Sony-esque, they're starting to move forward in a meaningful way. This time we're getting a glimpse at the Xperia XA3 that's pushing that trend forward.
The Xperia XA3 (and XA3 Ultra) will be mid-range options in Sony's portfolio, and also one of the first middle of the road Sony devices with an 18:9 aspect ratio screen. That screen is rumored to come in at 5.9 inches with relatively small bezels on the top and bottom. The bottom bezel is big enough to hold the Sony logo, but otherwise there's very little wasted space here. No notch, either.
Like its predecessor there will be a power button, camera shutter, and volume buttons on the side of the device opposite a fingerprint scanner. Side-mounted fingerprint scanners are starting to get more popular, despite Sony pioneering that technology years back.

The dual-camera system on the back definitely stands out in a sea of similar phones, and the LED flash rests above the two horizontal lenses. The 3.5mm headphone jack is triumphantly here on the top of the phone, and a USB C port takes up the bottom side.
We're expecting the device to launch with a Snapdragon 660 CPU and 6GB of RAM, and, knowing Sony, it's most likely going to be a little too expensive.
