Google has big plans for podcasts soon, but that doesn't mean you have to abandon your third-party apps. Pocket Casts is still by far one of the most popular options, and with good reason. But you know what would make it just a bit better? A slick new Material Design interface.
One of Google's partner sites that highlights how to do Material Design right accidentally (or not?) leaked a mockup of a new Pocket Casts design that's much more in line with Google's current UI vision, and it does look really, really good, as you can see above.
So was this just an experiment to test out what a Material podcasts app would look like? Well, the creator of Pocket Casts kind of confirmed on Twitter that the app has an update coming soon to Android, and that mockup is a small preview, which sounds like we can expect that full makeover sooner rather than later.
