Sound problems start popping up with the smaller Google Pixel 2 4

Google has had a really rough launch with the Pixel 2 XL, including inventory woes and a serious slew of screen problems. Up until now, the smaller Pixel 2 seems like it avoided most of the headache, but now there's officially a problem with the 5-inch version making “clicking” or “ticking” noises.

Google is fully aware of the issue and actually issued a statement that the clicking doesn't affect performance of the phone at all, claiming that it's just an audible annoyance. It has something to do with NFC, too, because apparently turning that off completely fixes the problem.

Of course, you won't want to leave NFC off all the time so you can still use things like Android Pay, but if you don't mind toggling a bit you can fix the issue yourself before Google pushes out a software update.

Any Pixel users dealing with phone problems right now? Or, better yet, any potential Pixel buyers completely turned off by all these problems yet?
