With only a few days remaining until Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy Note 8, we have a new set of leaked images to ponder as we head into the weekend. According to sources, the device pictured is “dummy” Galaxy Note 8. The highlights of the images appear to be a demonstration of how thin the Galaxy Note 8 will be.
One of the photos does show the bottom edge of the device and another shows a blurred top edge. Unfortunately, detail of the S Pen is not visible in either of these shots. Side shots do reveal some of the buttons, including the volume rocker and dedicated Bixby button. As far as being thin, despite growing in height and width to accommodate the 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come in at only 8.5mm thick.
As seen in previous leaked images, the configuration of the components on the back of the device is tweaked slightly compared to the Galaxy S8 devices. Likely based on feedback, Samsung has swapped the position of the LED flash and camera lens to make it less likely users will smudge their camera lens while searching around for the fingerprint sensor.
TalkAndroid will be covering the Samsung Unpacked 17 event from New York City next Wednesday, August 23rd where Samsung will announce their re-entry into the stylus-equipped smartphone market.
