Everyone knows when the LG G6 will be announced. The launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S8, however, isn't clear. And, for both, release dates remain up in the air at this point. Neither company is ready to say when you'll be able to buy their respective 2017 flagships until they're official.
Now, with days until the G6 debuts and weeks until the Galaxy S8 introduces itself, a report is exposing the release dates for both phones.

First, let's set aside the launch dates. There's no surprise here: the G6 will be announced at MWC 2017 on Sunday, February 26, during LG's presentation in Barcelona. Samsung, meanwhile, has yet to send out invites for a launch event regarding the Galaxy S8. But, according to ET News, that will happen on March 29 in New York City.
As for the release dates, LG is going to have quite the jump on Samsung. The source revealing this information says LG will release the G6 on March 10, which is more than one month before Samsung is apparently releasing the Galaxy S8. It appears Samsung had to move the release of its next flagship from April 14 to April 21 because of supply hiccups.

These release dates might be for LG and Samsung's home country of South Korea; however, the latter company usually carried out global distribution all at once for its flagships. So the G6, which is said to be heading to North America in April, might actually begin its run in the U.S. at the same time as Samsung's Galaxy S8. This same situation occurred in 2016, but Samsung was able to beat LG in getting the Galaxy S7 out in the U.S. and other markets before the G5. Although LG was able to move up the G6's timeline, Samsung is still going to be right behind waiting to strike.
Talk Android will be live from MWC 2017 in Barcelona next week, and we'll definitely be at Samsung's future launch event for the Galaxy S8 this spring.
