Ever been curious how the OnePlus 3's (and now the OnePlus 3T's) new Dash Charge feature works? It's a neat technology, able to charge the phone up quickly without producing too much heat. Today, OnePlus got American actress Emily Ratajkowski (appeared in Gone Girl) to break down the details.

If you've ever had a phone with Quick Charge 3.0 (or even the 2.0 version) or another proprietary fast charging technology, one of the biggest complaints is just how hot phones get. They charge crazy fast, but they still get a little too hot for comfort. The exception is the OnePlus 3, as it doesn't really see much of a temperature increase, all thanks to Dash Charge.

With Dash Charge, no power is actually converted inside the phone. It all happens in the power box, which is then transferred directly into the OnePlus 3's lithium-ion battery. Unfortunately, what's happening behind-the-scenes can all get very technical and difficult to understand. That's why OnePlus brought on Emily Ratajkowski to dig into the “nuts and bolts” of how Dash Charge works.

Fast charging is a neat technology that many of us wouldn't want to live without. But, we don't want to risk our phones getting too hot either. Dash Charge is a happy medium, giving you a day's worth of power after just half-an-hour on the wire.

You can find out more on how Dash Charge works over on OnePlus' website.
