Dedicated storage in a mobile device is becoming extremely slim as files are getting bigger and bigger. The sizes of applications, games, photographs, and videos today would never fit on a device released two or more years ago. That explains why consumers clamor for flagship devices to have microSD card slots. Fortunately, Samsung has announced the mass production of its 128GB memory that uses Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 2.0 technology.
Here is a quote from Samsung's Jee-ho Baek, Senior Vice President of Memory Marketing:
“With our mass production of ultra-fast UFS memory of the industry's highest capacity, we are making a significant contribution to enable a more advanced mobile experience for consumers. In the future, we will increase the proportion of high-capacity memory solutions, in leading the continued growth of the premium memory market.”
Samsung claims that its UFS memory can outperform the speed of reading found in current high-end smartphones by 2.7 times.
Worried about the price of this, especially when the amount of storage is 128GB? Don't worry, Samsung also has 32GB and 64GB variants.
There is a possibility that we see this form of storage debut on Sunday when the Galaxy S 6 is announced for the world to see at MWC 2015.

Well, that size of memory should be in every S6 phone. There should be no 32 or 64 versions of the s6. They should all be 128 if they stole our SD Card slot. If the rumors are true, and I hope they are all wrong and this is all some big joke, one of the shining features of Samsung, the Micro SD card, is no longer on their flagship. One of the best ways that I can rub my android in the face of my Apple owning friends who pay thru the nose to get anything bigger than a 16g iPhone, is gone. And so is the waterproofing. And so is the nice battery. And what did we get for this huge sacrifice of features that Apple will not have for at least the next two years? A better fingerprint reader that few will find as useful as they think, a returning heart monitor that none of my friends ever used and a brand new glass back that robs us of the ability to put in a better battery or have an sd card and will certainly shatter if we drop it before we get it into the case. And almost all of us use a case anyway, so why we had to sacrifice so much for so little is beyond me. The Sony phones are waterproof, right? Decent batteries? Sd card? Premium materials does not have to mean making it have the same limitations as the iphone. More metal, smaller bezels, bigger batteries, no lag ui, great camera..that is what the people were crying for. Not the fingerprint reader and the pulse sensor.
I hope this is all some joke and Samsung has been leaking lies to give us something awesome and unexpected, because I don’t want an iPhone that runs Android. I want an Android that beats the crap out of an iPhone and turns around at the heap of scrap it just left sputtering on the floor and spits on it. And the S6 could be that phone if Samsung listens to what we want.
Thanks for the awesome camera. Hope I get to use it.
