A new report mentions that Apple took up almost 93% of the profits that were generated in the handset market in the fourth quarter of 2014. The remaining was taken by Samsung, says Canaccord Genuity, which is an investment firm.

Apple filed earnings of $18 billion in the last quarter, making it one of the most lucrative financial quarters in history.

This is a substantial rise over the same period in 2013, where Apple devices made up for 87.4% of the profits and Samsung handsets raked in 32.2% of the overall smartphone profits. The number surpasses 100% because the income generated by the two companies is greater than the loss incurred by every other company.

We must remember that these figures don't take Xiaomi's number into account which is a major player in the Chinese markets and is also the third largest smartphone vendor in the world today. We can't put a finger on Xiaomi's figures as it doesn't disclose the profits and incomes at the end of every quarter.

  1. This is the result if a company request sooo much more money for a product from the consumers than it is worth in reality. Apple makes squeezes sooo much money from its customer, and instead is paying a shit for it 3rd party manufactures. They even comit suicide because of that pure working conditions. Apple is such an ugly company. They earn and earn and earn money like hell from all bird-brained people word wide, and don’t even let other companies which worked for them enough money to live. And that for hardware which is not top at all. The iphone 6 has the display resolution of my old Galaxy S3, which is 2.5 years old. Shame on you ugly apple, not getting your mouth enough full all time!

    1. I would have to agree with you on all points. I once thought it was just all the teens/ tweens ( i have several) that had to have whetever their friends have, cause it’s “trendy” and it seems most ,not all but most ,can’t think for themselves now days,so just follow these ridiculous “I” trends. In the last year or two ,I am seeing my mid 30s friends and others( that did have perfectly functioning brain at some stage!) all jumping in and doing this same “I” product thing . A lot of these people really can’t afford a ridiculously overpriced basic device,as we all have “adult” bills and costs of living to worry about ,but they still buy them! What is going on in this world ,when it is clear that seemingly intelligent adults can’t think for themselves and they too, think that they must have the latest iPhone/ipad? I have many great apps and games on my android devices including remote PC function/ streaming local and online content through our house ,and it has cost me little to nothing to set up ( small cost for devices!) and everything works incredibly well ,but when one of my daughters ( iphone-addict)says wow dad ,how do you do that? I tell her ” you just need this or that app” ,so she goes to her crapple store thingy ,and the same apps that I got for nothing or a small donation really ,is usually $5 -$10-$15 to go on her shitty overpriced piece of junk phone ,that seems to be broken or something not working on it every other week ( oh dad I need a new phone! Of course you do…well not from me) I have not and will not buy buy these “I” products for my kids ,just on principal ! If they choose to waste their hard earned money on this sort of junk, that’s their problem but also ,society’s problem ,I really don’t know what the outcome on society is going to be ,as they grow up being brainwashed ,but it can’t be good! People need to think for themselves and realize what their NEEDS are and refuse to be ripped off by these money grabbing companies ! Please don’t buy any apple products and recommend others to do the same ,just buy devices that work and for a fair price, maybe we can stop this madness before it gets too out of hand, but… it’s probably too late anyway I guess! Cheers.
