  4. Galaxy s2 doesn’t support arabic at all:S

official roms doesn’t support it, only unofficial and that voids your warrenty and is just annoying if the android originally support it why not include it in the mobile especially when u release it in the middle east.

I don’t care about having a full arabic software but at least reading and writing arabic should be supported!!!

  5. Android is complete crap, Indian language is not supporting at all, all the square box are showing while browsing indian language. we can install from third party but for that we have to do Root our phone, some time installing font in system files complete software cracks. Really Android is complete Crap

  6. All, I think each phone is only created with selected languages for its target distribution destinations. Even though Android 2.3 claims support of many of the languages, which means when the phone software is created the phone maker can selectively pick certain languages from Android platform provided resources, easily, instead of creating the language in-house, A phone doesn’t normally has all the possible languages, this is to save memory and complexity.

  7. I’ve Galaxy S2 with Gingerbread 2.3.3… Its not showing compatibility with Hindi, which is the national language of 121 billion Indians. I can’t understand, how dare Samsung and Google (Android) can afford to ignore Hindi, specially when both the companies are enjoying large foot print in Indian market…
Can anybody solve this problem of Hindi…

  8. Yes, there are only 13 languages and none of the new languages that were supposed to be supported.
I found a solution for the keyboard, it’s called “Multilang” and gives you a perfect gingerbread keyboard support for hebrew + dictionary.

The only thing that’s bad is there is no perfect RTL support. Looks the same as you write in hebrew using facebook in english on the PC.

Another thing is a bug that supposed to be fixed in the new version (2.3.3) which makes the device restart randomly while making calls.

  9. Since when they publish Arabic version under Israel as a region. Its not even an Arab Coutry. Google didn’t like all other 22 Arab countries to choose Israel. Even the FIFA doesn’t consider Israel in the middle east. Apparently the’re trying to push this 1948 Israel somehow in the region. hehe

  10. Hi, I just upgraded to 2.3.3 on my Nexus One and I can only see 13 languages (instead of the 57 advertised) and no French Canada (there is only 1 French, which is France).

    Why? Help!

    Thanks, Alex

  11. I just bought the device, and it’s amazing…
But I don’t see any of the new languages in the menu.

What the hell?… I want a hebrew keyboard. is that so hard? WHY, for god’s sake, I don’t have this option?

The languages listed above were eventually NOT supported?

    Please reply.

  12. Do I understand from your words that he could not Arabization of the phone?? Why do not you support Arabic in most new phones?? You’re losing so on .. There are thousands of Arabs who want to buy the phone but abstain from buying because of the language ..

  13. @Mahamoud: You do know this story was pulled from a source, right? Straight from the Android Developers blog? So why am I full of it? I didn’t make it up, dude. :)

  14. Thanks for nothing Dustin!!! I just forked out 600 bucks for an unlocked android and now realize it doesn’t support Arabic.

    You just full of it.

  15. Please help .. I want to convert the language of Sony Ericsson X-10 to the original Arabic. chopped others .. I want to convert all the phone to the original Arabic … and not only the messages and contacts .. I’m ready to buy the Arabic language .. I have no objection, but must be Predicate with an explanation of how to install ..

Arabic language is not is not intermittent

  16. Are you kidding me?? I live in Palestine .. and Palestine and Israel, two in each live in one state .. There are more than a million Arabs inside Israel, they called them Arabs 48 what is the difference?? Do I choose the name of the cities of Israel?? I’m talking about turning the phone into Arabic … the way I want to convert it into Arabic .. do you have steps you explain the way??

  17. Ok .. thank you, but the same problem .. I saw updates Android 2.3, but how do I download these updates and you download it .. when I go to the language settings in the phone .. Is Valid Arabic language in front of me and can I choose.??? I mean, this new update contains the Arabic language automatically in the language settings in the phone??? And I choose the language from there?? Or are there other ways to install the Arabic language in Mobile???

  18. Does this edition of android supports Arab female in the language of Motorola mobile droid X???? If support …plees much that there should be explained to the process of conversion of language in Motorola droid xto the Arabic

  19. I’m not sure why, but the Gingerbread keyboard I’m running on my HTC Incredible does not have either of the 2 listed Chinese languages.

  20. What about encoding? Does it have full support of UTF-8? Because in 2.2 there is still problem for some glyphs such as “ə” (Azeri language)
