In the rush to be an early adopter of the new Google Nexus 9 tablet, some buyers discovered some quality issues with the HTC built tablet. Despite their struggles in the market, HTC generally has been viewed as a manufacturer of quality devices, so the shortcomings were probably unwelcome news for HTC executives. Based on a new post on reddit, it looks like HTC has stepped up to address at least some of the problems for buyers.

One of the issues that was identified was a problem with the volume and power buttons on the edge of the Nexus 9. Some users were reporting the buttons were difficult to press apparently because they were sitting too far in the device relative to the chassis. The reddit user who posted up the image above shows how HTC has made sure the buttons are raised up higher.

Another issue for the same reddit user, along with other early buyers, was excessive light bleed from the display. Reports indicate this was improved, though not eliminated, in the replacement unit provided by HTC.
