Swiftkey improves performance with latest keyboard update

Swiftkey announced an update to their Swiftkey Keyboard for Android app to add some performance improvements and even more supported languages. The primary focus of the updated release is on the performance improvements that were pursued based on feedback received from their users.

Swiftkey indicates the updated Keyboard will appear quicker and quit faster. The development team also worked to make it switch between fields a little more quickly and users should find the typing seems to be more responsive.

Along with the performance enhancements, Swiftkey added 12 new languages to serve markets on the Indian sub-continent. The new languages include:

  • Assamese,
  • Bengali,
  • Gujarati,
  • Kannada,
  • Malayalam,
  • Marathi,
  • Oriya,
  • Punjabi,
  • Tamil,
  • Telugu,
  • Nepali,
  • Sinhala.
