HTC Watch

With so many companies rushing into the wearables market, particularly the smartwatch segment, HTC has indicated they are delaying the launch of a smartwatch from their company until at least 2015. In announcing the delay, the head of the HTC Creative Labs team, Drew Bramford, took a swipe at all other manufacturers in claiming “we honestly don't think anyone has gotten it right.”

According to Bramford and HTC Americas head Jason Mackenzie, the company wants to create a product that gives consumers a “really compelling reason to strap it on.” For now, HTC's effort to reach that goal is not ready despite a desire to have a wearable launch sometime this fall.

This latest announcement from HTC comes after rumors surfaced last month indicating HTC was abandoning their smartwatch development efforts altogether.

Do you think HTC is right in claiming current smartwatches don't make sense for consumers?
