The problem with many entry-level devices is that they do not support LTE connectivity. That is seemingly going to change as today Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 210. As expected, the Snapdragon 210 can only do so much with the little power it has to power entry-level devices. The Snapdragon 210 is based on 28nm technology.
The processor supports up to four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.1 GHz and an Adreno 304 GPU. That is actually an alright setup. The Snapdragon 210 includes Bluetooth 4.1 support and the display resolution of devices using the processor can reach 720p. The cameras max out at 8MP. It is even capable of using Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
Qualcomm says that the Snapdragon 210 is targeted at both smartphones and tablets. To showcase the power of the processor, Qualcomm is producing reference designs to be seen in early 2015.
