Next month in New York City, HTC will be holding press event that could see the introduction of a new product that is a little familiar. The company is expected to announce the One (W8) for Windows on August 19 and a release date is to follow two days later with Verizon being one of the named carriers. The device is rumored to be a One (M8) repackaged with Windows Phone as the operating system rather than Android.

The One (W8) for Windows is rumored to keep all of the goodies that come with HTC's Android flagship. This means that BoomSound and the Duo Camera are sticking around. And with Windows Phone's latest update, smart covers are supported; therefore, the Dot View case will presumably make its way to the One (W8) as well. Earlier this month, we did learn that HTC would be bringing its unique case to additional devices and a ‘W8' was spotted on the list.
