Which is it? Is the Galaxy S 5 Prime, the Galaxy F, or the Galaxy Alpha? These are the rumored names for Samsung's expected premium smartphone.  When rumors started earlier in the year, it was believed to be the Galaxy S 5 Prime, but then the Galaxy F name picked up steam over the last month. Now today, Korean media is buzzing about a Galaxy Alpha, which happens to also have a metal build.

Now Samsung is the king of variant devices, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised if they released phones with all three names. However, I do think it's unlikely in this case since Samsung probably will only offer one metal phone.

The Alpha is expected to be announced in August just before Apple announces the iPhone 6. That seems to indicate and IFA announcement, which is usually only reserved for Galaxy Note line.

So which name will it be? Could be a combination of all 3?

  1. While patrons of technology have a certain flair for the ‘big top’ circus showmanship style experience in regards to surprise, introduction and advertising of new products, my preference is for the frank, timely and coherent disclosure of a product without all of the fanfare.

In regards to Sammy’s new surprise, IMHO, it may very well blow the LG-G3 (as an example) out of the water, but left with fanciful speculation, I’d rather make my choice with LG and not wait to see how 2 in the bush is better than one in the hand. Just my personal opinion however.
