Looking for some more cool things to do with your Chromecast? Check out HomeCast by peterbee.

HomeCast lets cast photos from 500px, Imgur/Reddit, and Flickr. You can even fine tune what galleries you want based on categories or searches. HomeCast will also throw on the weather for any area (by postal code or city) you designate. You have the option for displaying visibility, pressure, humidity, cloud cover, precipitation, and wind speed as well as the high and low temps for the day and the time and date. Assuming you are casting with your smartphone that has cellular connectivity, you will even get SMS and Call notifications on your TV. Lastly, HomeCast even displays your cover art for the music you're playing if you wish. Unfortunately, you can't cast the music at the same time (play on your device only), but that is one of the big limitations of the Chromecast.

You will find a slew of settings for each category – Background, Weather, Time & Date, Notifications, Music Art, and Global. The cost is $0.99 so give it a try. We have screenshots and download links after the break.
