At the end of April, Acer indicated they were preparing a couple devices for a summer release, the Acer Liquid Jade smartphone and the Acer Liquid Leap fitness tracker. The company has unveiled more information about the Liquid Leap wearable device which will only be sold in conjunction with the Liquid Jade smartphone.

The Liquid Leap will come equipped with a 1-inch touchscreen and a rubber wristband in one of five colors – black, white, aquamarine, pink, or orange. It leans heavily toward a form factor similar to Samsung's Gear Fit device. The Liquid Leap will be able to track steps, measure distances covered, assess sleep quality, and estimate calories burned. When mated with the smartphone, users will be able to control music playback, check SMS messages, and view notifications. According to Acer, the battery should last approximately 7 days between charges.

At this time it is not yet known which markets will see these devices, but sources think it is becoming more unlikely they will make it to the U.S.
