Do not expect to get your hands on the Xperia Z2 anytime soon in the United States. Sony confirmed to TechCrunch that its flagship device will be arriving on U.S. soil this summer. While carriers have not been announced just yet, Sony has made it clear the Xperia Z2 will be offered unlocked through its own online store. But if previous leaks are any indication, Verizon will be one of the carriers in the United States electing to offer the Xperia Z2.

Sony's silent United States presence should be of no surprise. The company does not put a focus on the U.S. market as it is so difficult to gain any traction. Over time, though, that could change. Especially if Sony moves on from its OmniBalance design later this year.
