google_keyboard_3Google's own keyboard has been updated to version 3.0. Despite the change to a full new version number, this isn't a huge update. The update brings a few minor bug fixes and tweaks, such as a dedicated “ABC” button to switch from emoji. In addition, perhaps the biggest change is a new personalized suggestions feature which uses data from other Google Apps and Services to improve suggestions and corrections.

The personalized suggestions feature is disabled by default, so you'll need to turn it on through the settings. The update is currently available in the Play Store, and you can download via the link past the break.

  1. I tried out the Google keyboard, because I didn’t like the Dragon voice recognition on the Swype keyboard. I switched back mainly because I could never get the Google keyboard to let me swipe the word “Sucks”. Apparently, I text that word a lot, and it just wouldn’t work.
