Motorola held an event at Mobile World Congress, but it wasn't like most of the manufacturer events we have seen. Normally companies who hold press events during MWC, usually have some products to introduce, but that wasn't the case for Motorola. That wasn't a surprised since they did announce their intentions when they scheduled the event.

There was a Q&A session and the panel of Rich Osterloh, Steve Horowitz, and Mark Randall confirmed that a smartwatch will be unveiled by the end of the year. They also confirmed, and not surprisingly, that a Moto X followup should be ready for late summer.

They also confirmed that Moto Maker will arrive in Germany, Mexico, and the UK during quarter 2.

By the end of 2014, we should have smartwatches from every key manufacturer. That might include Apple and Google as well. Which one are you most anticipating?
