Screenshots from Sony “Sirius” camera apps reveal support for 4K video, other effects

As we get closer to MWC 2014 and the likely release of the Sony “Sirius” device as the Sony Xperia Z2, we have some new images that reveal some of the camera functions on the new device. Perhaps of greatest interest to many, even if usefulness may be limited until the market matures, is the presence of 4K video recording. XDA member iRimas, who has the device, grabbed the screenshots showing some of the settings for 4K video and some other features.

Along with 4K video, the Sony camera app will be able to record a high-frame rate video that can be slowed down with some slow motion effects, a function Sony is calling Timeshift video. The Background defocus function promises to mimic DSLR cameras in producing a nice bokeh effect while the AR effect will let users add virtual scenes and characters to their photos and videos. Sony appears to have packed in several other tools to help users apply some filters and edits after snapping a pic or video.
