As soon as Google sold Motorola to Lenovo this evening, people immediately questioned what would be Project Ara's fate. It will remain with Google as well as Motorola's Advanced Technology and Products department. This means that former DARPA director Regina Dugan and her team, including Dr. Ivan Poupyrev, will be moving their offices to Google's Mountain View campus. There, they will report to Android and Chrome head honcho Sundar Pichai.

While Google will also keep the patents held by the Advanced Technology and Products department, Lenovo will maintain a license to them. In case you forgot, Dugan & Co. are working on some crazy things.
