Don't worry, Waze is here to stay (for now). Google, despite acquiring Waze in June, is allowing the navigation app to operate on its own. Today, Waze has announced it needs testers for its closed beta. To be eligible, you will need a device running Android 2.2 Froyo or later, a 320×480 or better display, and some technical knowledge. Of course, you also need to know English. As of now, Waze has not said what new features are in the works. If interested, fill out the form and they will contact you if chosen.
