Tension between AT&T and T-Mobile has been ratcheting up in these weeks leading up to CES 2014 when T-Mobile is announcing Uncarrier 4.0.  In tweets hinting at the next stage of their strategy, T-Mobile CEO John Legere has made it a point to poke at AT&T. That goes along with recent T-Mobile television advertising that specifically calls out AT&T. T-Mobile has been promising Uncarrier 4.0 will be big and the main rumor to surface is that it will involve T-Mobile paying early termination fees for users that switch to their service. AT&T may have had enough as they announced today a special deal to help customers make a switch, especially if they are switching from T-Mobile.

According to AT&T, they are now offering up to a $250 “promotion card” for users who trade in their smartphones depending on factor like make, model, age and condition of the phone. In addition, T-Mobile customers who switch can receive another $200 credit per line if they choose an AT&T Next plan, buy a device for full price, or activate their own device. AT&T has even setup a special web page to explain the process and help T-Mobile customers make the switch at www.att.com/switchfromtmo.

  1. Why would AT&T waste their time on T-Horrible? T-Mobile is nothing but a pimple on the rear end of the mobile world.

    1. When I get 19mb/s downloads on an unlimited text/data plan for $30 a month from a pimple, why would I want to fork over double (or triple) that amount to a melanoma whose plans are built to suck users dry with data charges?

I’ll take a pimple over cancer any day of the week my friend.
