The Vivo Xplay 3S, the device with the crazy 2560 x 1440 resolution screen, is set to release on December 12th according to Chinese company BBK Electronics that manufacturers the devices under the Vivo brand. Unfortunately, they didn't spill anything on pricing, but considering it has a 2k screen, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 800 CPU, don't expect this one to be cheap.

The device likely won't be available outside of China, but it does signify that we're still in a screen resolution race with smartphones. Would any of you buy a device like this, or do you think 2k is too much for a phone?
