Sony is planning to release their new PlayStation 4 this November and they have announced the new PlayStation App will be available for iOS and Android devices at the same time. The PlayStation App will be a companion to the PS4 and will enable gamers to use their tablets or smartphones as controllers for some titles. Even if a title does not allow that, the app has other features that may be useful for gamers, like the ability to serve as a second screen displaying extra information during gameplay. Based on the information provided, it appears users will also be able to order games and trigger their download to their PS4. Sony is planning to include a variety of social networking touchpoints on the PS4 and the PlayStation App should enable users to capitalize and access those features as well.
