Verizon is launching a new protection plan for smartphone owners called Total Mobile Protection (TMP). At a subscription fee of $10 per month, subscribers will receive tech support for their device, security, and replacement services if something goes wrong with your device. TMP offers “premium” tech support through Verizon's “Tech coaches,” with whom you can get in contact with shorter wait times than usual.

TMP claims to protect you from viruses, malware, and other mobile threats. The TMP app features mobile device lock, location services, and wiping should you lose your phone or have it stolen. Lastly, TMP's insurance benefits will help you if you ever need to replace a lost, stolen, or damaged device
