We've been hearing rumors and details about Samsung's own smartwatch since before the Galaxy S 4 was even released, but nothing concrete ever popped up. However, Samsung appears to have trademarked “Galaxy Gear,” which is for a “wearable digital electronic device in the form of a wristwatch.” Galaxy smartwatch, anyone?
Most manufacturers are at least toying with the idea of a smartwatch, so it shouldn't surprise any of us to see Samsung moving forward with those plans. And personally, I think Galaxy Gear is a really cool name. Hopefully we'll some solid details of this in the next few weeks whenever we hear about the Note III.
