Well we have some Debbie Downer news for Galaxy S II owners today. It looks like the GS2 won't get the Android 4.2.2 update afterall. It was originally going to get the update, but “due to adjustment problems in the TouchWiz interface,” it isn't going to happen. I know this might be a disappointment for many of you, but when you consider that the GS2 is already two years old, it's not a shocker. It's very rare to see updates on devices with that kind of age. Thankfully, it received two major updates, and that is darn good in the Android world. Now if you are lucky to have a Galaxy S II Plus, it looks like you might be enjoying Android 4.2.2 in the near future.

I’ve had 4.2.2 on my Galaxy S2 for almost 6 months already, expecting to see 4.3 in the next few days (hopefully). But then again I ditched touchwiz for CM ages ago :)
Why can’t they release source so that cm can continue the development into 4.2 and beyond…
I’m sick of these articles. Author did good job, don’t get me wrong. But gosh its old news. Ok, we know these are not Nexus already. If you want updates, buy a Nexus, if not, shut up and buy something else. Period.
Funny thing they can adjust the S2 Plus, but not the original S2, essentially being the same, except the processor. It’s just a lame excuse for not updating an old device.
Simple solution, ditch that PoS TouchWiz and problem solved! :p
