Look what just appeared on my Nexus 10 around midnight tonight. Yes, that's Android 4.2.1! This is a small 1MB update that fixes the now infamous December bug. Other potential changes could include improved battery life and stability, but without an official changelog that's just speculation at the moment. In any case, this is the magic of the Nexus program… quick updates with no manufacturer or carrier interference.

Anyone else get the update yet? Are you noticing anything different? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. Got it on my Nexus 7 and I’m sorry I did. App stability down and keyboard performance is flaky. A few examples:

    1) Keyboard is flaky. Even with gesture typing disabled, the keyboard often registers 2 characters with one stroke where as it never did so before. (like pressing P and a P and O pop up)

    2) Users of AIM will be disappointed as you cannot log in without deleting your account and re-adding it each time.

    3) Users of Words with Friends and Scramble with friends will see random behavoir. SWF users will see slow and choppy performance (frame skips) when certain powerups are activated and WWF users will see random keypresses sent and getting stuck on sending move.

    4) Certain other apps will not update in a timely manner.
