Instagram may be on the verge of a billion dollar takeover from Facebook but thankfully the pending deal isn't standing in the way of progress. The in-house developers have been hard at work updating the Android application in order to bring a few extra features that were missing at launch and, most importantly, bringing it up to date with the iOS counterpart. Tilt-shift, a feature that allows the photographer to adjust focus and add a blur effect to their shots was available on iOS from day one so it was a notable absence from Android version 1.0. It's great to see that it has finally arrived on Android.

Sorry to say guys… but this is about *imitating* tilt and shift, and actually quite badly, compared to the effect achieved by photographers using tilt-shift lenses. Will there be some time in the future where people start noticing that capturing light and drawing with photoshop is inherently different thanks to physics of 3D travelling light and optics?
I’m so getting into Instagram at the moment. My baby son features in pretty much all my photos
