Some of us do some moderate to heavy gaming on our Androids. Of course we know there are limitations with most phones, namely the lack of physical gaming buttons like those found on the Sony Xperia Play phone. A Swedish company called Fructel came up with a rather ingenious solution for Android owners to be able to play games in a much more traditional manner. They created a device called the Gametel Wireless Controller and it’s a third-party gamepad add-on to your Android device. The gang at Pocket Gamer were able to get their hands on a prototype and share some of their thoughts of how the device worked for their phone. The pad itself works in a neat way as all you do is download a specific driver to your Android phone and physically attach your phone to the gamepad. You then pair the gamepad to your phone’s Bluetooth signal and you’re good to go. Also mentioned is the ability to connect a tablet to the gamepad, though you obviously can’t clamp the tablet onto the gampad. Of course every game isn’t compatible with the gamepad, but there’s a nice list of major games out there that will work.
