Sony Ericsson plans to offer more unlocked smartphones in the U.S. 4

Sony Ericsson just finalized a deal with Ingram Micro to distribute its unlocked phones in the U.S. The Xperia Ray has already been available for a couple of months, but this agreement should bring more SE phones into the states. The deal will include several phones, including the recently released Xperia arc S.

All products will be available through Ingram Micro later this month. Ingram Micro also distributes to other e-tailers and retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, Buy.com, and Newegg.com.

SONY ERICSSON EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION OF UNLOCKED PHONES IN THE U.S. WITH INGRAM MICRO

ATLANTA, GA – November 14, 2011 Sony Ericsson has signed an agreement with Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world’s largest technology distributor and supply-chain services provider, to distribute its unlocked phones in the U.S. The agreement includes several of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia™ smartphones, including the newly released Xperia™ arc S.  All products will be made available through Ingram Micro starting later this month. Globally, Ingram Micro distributes millions of mobile solutions to their reseller partners, including many e-tailers and retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, Buy.com and Newegg.com.
