It looks like we might see another budget friendly device hit the store shelves soon now that we have seen the HTC Explorer, formerly Pico, pass FCC inspection. The phone was officially announced last month and HTC said it was initially heading to India and Europe. With the brief visit at the FCC, we can only guess it will land here in the U.S. as well.
In case you forgot, the Explorer is an entry level device and the price should be very affordable based on the handset's specs, it may even end up being free with a two-year contract but no exact price has been confirmed. Just to recap, some features to expect are:
- 3.2-inch touchscreen with 320 x 480 resolution
- 600 MHz processor
- 512 MB internal storage
- 512 MB RAM
- 3 MP camera
- WiFi (802.11 b/g/n)
- Bluetooth 3.0
- 1230 mAh battery
Also with the new pairing of HTC and Dropbox, you can probably expect the device to receive a pre-loaded Dropbox app and new owners should get the upgraded 5GB of cloud storage as well. If you missed our article about the two companies teaming up offering extended cloud storage on new HTC devices, be sure to check it out. Also, if you feel so inclined you can see all the dirty details of the FCC visit here, jump past the break to see a quick HTC Explorer promo video as well.
