Uber announced a new feature they are adding to their service that will allow for multiple stops to be added to a ride. With this update, users can do things like stop to pick up friends or family from different locations who are all on their way to the same final destination. In the past users had to do things like change destinations during a ride or have each person grab a ride to a common location where everyone would then pile into one vehicle.
Uber has updated their apps and services on both ends – for riders and for drivers – to support the new multiple stop capability. For riders, they will find a new “+” option available when entering their destination. This can be used to add the additional stops that are needed. Uber points out that users can add or remove stops during a journey in real time to handle those last minute changes.
For drivers, new directions will be automatically sent to them and loaded up when a change is made or a new stop is added to a route.
