Samsung prepping a ‘Glossy Black’ Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung is preparing to launch a version of the Galaxy S7 Edge in a new color — Glossy Black — according to new images posted online.

As you’ll notice from the images, the Glossy Black looks strangely familiar to the Black Onyx color option that launched with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The big difference is that instead of a matte finish, you get a sleek, glossy coat of paint. And from the posted images, it really makes the phone “pop.”

Samsung has been raking in some huge losses with the ongoing Galaxy Note 7 debacle, and launching its flagship devices from earlier this year in new colors might help offset costs. More recently, the Korean tech giant launched a Coral Blue version of the Galaxy S7 Edge in select markets.

These images of the Galaxy S7 Edge in Glossy Black come from Chinese social media service Weibo. The account that posted them actually belongs to a Samsung official in China.

Hopefully we’ll hear something official over the next couple of weeks. From the images, the Glossy Black is really sleek looking, so hopefully it isn’t something where it’s limited to very few markets.
