The Moto M has been making waves lately, as its expected to be a brand new letter entry into the Lenovo-owned Moto family. Like any good device, though, it was bound to show up in press renders or leaked images sooner or later, and that’s exactly what’s happened.

You can see the Moto M in all its metal glory above, confirming the design materials we were expecting from the mid-range device. The leak also corroborated some details but made others a little muddier, which means we might end up seeing multiple variants to account for the differing leaks.

The newest leak suggests we will see a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM with 32GB of storage, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. It’s also sporting the all-metal chassis, which means this will probably be one of the most premium budget devices on the market. However, we will not see the huge 5100mAh battery, and it’s likely to launch with a MediaTek Helio P15 instead of the Snapdragon 625, at least in China. I think that move makes sense considering the relatively new Moto Z Play also uses a Snapdragon 625, and that much overlap would be a little confusing.

With that being said, the device is expected to launch in multiple markets, so there’s still a chance that we see a Snapdragon 625 version somewhere else in the world, even if that doesn’t make sense next to the Moto Z Play. Although the Moto M will be a little cheaper and won’t support Moto Mods, it’s still getting into a quagmire of multiple devices and naming that always seems to hurt, not help, Android OEMs.

Too bad that gigantic battery thing didn’t pan out.
